About Sudara Safe Housing: Sunetha Home
Whenever Sudara’s NGO partners in India talk about breaking the cycle of sex slavery, we hear again and again their need for:
SAFE HOUSING FOR CHILDREN OF SEX WORKERS.
Regardless of whether a woman is ever able to fully exit the sex trade, more often than not, her desire is for her children to remain free of it.
Growing up in brothels is almost always a guarantee of generational sex work.
Sudara’s NGO partner in Hydrabad, India has identified nearly 280 children whose mothers would like to house them somewhere safe, beyond the red light district.
Cost to initiate the project: $5,000
Cost to maintain monthly: $900 to staff the home, provide housing, feed, care for/educate 10 girls.
Cost to sponsor one girl for 1 month: $90
Total financial goal: $15,800
Sponsorship includes meals, private school, home, clothes, access to medical attention.
Life in this home broadens the horizon for 10 young girls and offers a path to higher education and a rewarding professional career that they are empowered to choose for themselves.
Let’s build this house together!
